Position Outcome
• Ensures that a permanent placement plan is achieved that represents the child’s best interest
• Ensures that the child’s education environment encourages him/her to reach their full potential
• Respects the child’s right to privacy by maintaining confidentiality and complies with all applicable statutory requirements pertaining to confidentiality
• Ensures that relevant, objective, accurate and up-to-date information is available to the Court.
• Investigate case independently
• Report relevant information to the court
• Monitor and facilitate progress of case through system
• Accept case appointment
• Complete Monthly Activity Form and submit by the last day of each calendar month
• Notify supervisor of pertinent information regarding case
• Notify supervisor of any correspondence received independently from community stakeholders via postal service, electronic mail, facsimile, or telephone
• Receive direct supervision and guidance from supervisor
• Attend in-service training as required
• Immediately inform CASA supervisor of any situation that would prevent fulfilling volunteer advocate duties i.e. illness, vacation, conflict of interest
