Helping low-income schools from Southwest Missouri will be the goal of the night in Springfield on December 7, 2012. The 4th annual Diamond in the Rough Casino Night & Poker Tournament presented by BKD Wealth Advisors, LLC event benefiting The Hamels Foundation will bring all-stars from around the country to the Ozarks for a night of fun and fundraising. Started by 3-time MLB All-Star, 2008 World Series MVP and current Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Cole Hamels and his wife, former Buffalo, MO resident and Survivor contestant Heidi Strobel Hamels, The Hamels Foundation has a dual mission to provide support for quality education in the United States and establish a school in Malawi, Africa.
