Greetings to all! Victory in Progress Community Development Corporation has always had a heart’s desire to serve the community by providing nourishment for the whole body. Partnering with Hi-5 Community Development Corporation and S.A.L.T (Supporting All Lives Together), and several local area churches has enabled us to open “The Love Kitchen 2”. The Love Kitchen 2 serves as a community kitchen in the Pulaski County area providing a warm and nutritious meal to any person in need at no charge. Our current operating hours are Sunday afternoons from 1:00pm to 4:00pm.
In our efforts to extend the hours and maximize the number of families served, we need the financial support and prayers of you and your organization as well. The old saying is, united we stand, but divided we fall. We each play a very significant role in making a life changing impact in our community.
So how can you help? The following are some ways that you can help;
• Become a volunteer servant helping to cook, serve, and/or clean in the kitchen
• Provide volunteer transportation and/or delivery services
• Donate food supplies
• Provide a monetary donation
• Take some flyers and spread the word to the community
In addition, we would like to announce that we will be open on Thursday, November 24, 2011 from 12pm to 5pm serving Thanksgiving dinner to all those who may not have anywhere else to go; are struggling financially; or just alone and need some company for the holiday. If you would like to contribute to the community in providing a spectacular meal with a side of love for free, we are still in need of donations of turkeys, ham, green beans, and desserts.
If you would like to assist in any of these areas please contact 573-774-6200 as soon as possible. If you do not immediately receive an answer, please leave a message and we will promptly return your call.
