University Heights Baptist Church will continue its First Wednesday Noon Concert Series with a concert featuring the piano music of Harry Beckett in the Chapel at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday, March 7.
Harry Beckett has had a long career as an “eclectic” pianist-entertainer-accompanist, loving to perform in numerous musical genres, including classical, jazz, swing, country, pop, rock, gospel, musical theater and various international style. He has performed with numerous celebrity artists throughout the United States. Having moved to Springfield about 20 years ago, he has had the wonderful opportunity to collaborate with many high-quality performing soloists and groups in the Springfield arts community.
In addition to his full-time job as the Music Therapist for Integrity Home Care/Hospice and Palliative Care, Beckett facilitates a number of music-related community outreach events, including direction of the therapeutic singing group “Tremble Clefs” as a support for persons with Parkinson’s Disease and other disorders.
