For Missourians on Medicare, Oct. 15-Dec. 7 is the annual open enrollment period. This is the time for changing prescription drug plans (Medicare Part D) and some health plans (Medicare Advantage) without penalty. Volunteer counselors with Missouri CLAIM - a state-funded nonprofit service - are available to help. All counselors are trained, certified and independent from the private insurance industry.
