Pensmore: The Ultimate in Green Building Technology
Pensmore: The Ultimate in Green Building Technology

Start Date: Nov. 28, 2012
Time: 6:00 PM

Energy Café Nov. 28 Showcases Hyper Energy-efficient Pensmore® in “Pensmore®: the Ultimate in Green Building Technology” Pensmore®, atop the wooded hills south of Ozark on the east side of Highway 65, has sparked many rumors since construction of the 72,000-sq. ft. house became visible. Learn the truth about Steve Huff’s imposing eco-friendly and natural disaster-resistant home at the Ozarks New Energy’s Energy Café Wednesday, Nov. 28, 6-7:30 p.m. at Farmers Gastropub, 431 S. Jefferson, Springfield. The Energy Café is open to the public. Huff is the owner of TF Forming Systems, whose insulated concrete forms are a major building component of this laboratory home that will test realistic ways to drastically reduce energy costs. The house is being built to survive F5 tornadoes and earthquakes and is intended to be energy-neutral. Over the past 15 years, TF Systems invented the first vertical insulated concrete forming system. That evolved into its ThermoForm System® and more recently into its TransForm System™. These technologies are employed at Pensmore®. Speaking on “Pensmore®: the Ultimate in Green Building Technology” will be two employees of TF Forming Systems. Paul Lais, territory account manager, has more than 30 years of construction experience. He has worked for the company for two years and believes in the resilience movement as a viable answer to diminishing energy and natural resources in the transition to a climate-changed Earth. He will explain the “entire envelope” concept of construction and why it’s important for the world’s future. Also speaking will be Mary Guccione, director of marketing and communication, who has more than 12 years of experience as a marketing executive for corporate and private companies. Guccione has been with TF Forming Systems for a year. To reserve a seat at the Energy Café, call 581-4018. ONE is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit dedicated to promoting education, knowledge and training about renewable and alternative energy in the Ozarks. It has presented three energy conferences in Springfield and hosts regular Energy Cafes, free to the public.
